The Sanctuary

A garden sanctuary on the shores of Atitlán

Once Club Ven Acá — reimagined as a place to heal, gather, and reconnect.

Our story

A name that means “garden”

Villas del Carmen is named in honor of the property’s original owner whose vision for the space is being exalted and refined in the spirit of the world’s Arabic origin, meaning “garden or orchard”.

Previously known as Club Ven Aca, Villas del Carmen has undergone renovations, rebranding, and a re-awakening to the endless possibilities for deeply connected and transcendent experiences on the shore of the most beautiful lake in the world.

We are committed to crafting a space for healing, celebrating, honoring, growing, and creating through the lens of community and change. This is a place where our guests are presented with the opportunity to experience Guatemala and the richness of her people, history, and natural treasures with unparalleled amenities and comforts.

A place where all scenes are alert at all times: sights and scents of flowers and trees, the taste of fruits, the soft feeling of the petals and the water that laps at the shore, the sound of the birds that flutter up in the branches and the soft murmur of the wind through leaves.

Stone garden path winding through the subtropical gardens

The garden

Fifteen years in the making

The garden here has been mindfully crafted and cultivated over 15 years by Arturo Perez, a talented and devoted Ka’qchikel man who has made the property his Earthen canvas where he has colored the landscape with native flowers and plants that he sprouted and planted from a few original “mother” plants over a decade ago.

Where you'll stay

Four houses, room for sixteen

The property is made up of four distinct lake-view houses — book a single unit, an entire home, or the whole sanctuary for your group.

The Yellow House

Casa Amarilla

The Pink House

Casa Rosada

Two lake-view units — one upstairs, one downstairs — each with a queen bed and a jetted tub. The downstairs unit adds a daybed for an extra guest.

The Blue House

Casa Azul

A full two-bedroom home — one bedroom with a queen, the other with a king that can be set as two twins — plus a private full bathroom, a large downstairs living room, a half bath, and a fully equipped kitchen.

Retreat host's quarters

The Facilitator House

A cozy standalone home with a full bed, sofa bed, full bathroom, kitchen and living room — ideal for the leader hosting a retreat group.
